So the guy installed it. He was giving me some excuses about how he was supposed to drill the bracket in and how his supervisor was going to be mad, but I talked him into it. I have it on using a big 8" C-clamp. It's on the upstairs small TV but I might figure a way to wire it downstairs (or switch the TVs).

You dont need a phone line plugged in all the time, thats only for oredering PPV's and such.My two boxes havent been on a phone line since I installed the system 4 years ago. when and if you call DTV for assistance tell them "Yep, its plugged into a phone line" they get all upset about it for some reason if it isnt.

I was under the impression that they would shut your box down if it wasn't on the phone line. I guess they won't, if you're getting away with it.. It's okay, I've put in another splitter and the line's on the edge of the room. I was lucky I keep a 3-foot vise-grip clamp around the house to hold it in place to tune it until I could go to the hardware store for the clamp. Now I have to put some plants on the balcony railing to hide that ugly-ass clamp :)

I'm glad I get to watch OZ now.
