back to the chain gang

I lost my wallet this morning, somehow. I probably didn't actually lose it, since I just canceled both my cards. Once I cancel my cards I always find the wallet, but I'd rather get new cards than deal with what follows when I don't cancel the cards. This is the last in a string of near-losses over several months. No more of this bullshit for me. I switched away from using a chain wallet in college because I thought it would look more professional. I've left or lost my wallet dozens of times since then. Every time I make a change in my life towards form and away from function I lose; I'm going back to a chain wallet. What could happen, would it affect my stellar career? LOL.

Doesn't wrapping a couple of thickish rubber bands around it also increase the friction?

These are good, and I've tried both with good results. Unfortunately my old brick-style wallet gave me all kinds of back pain due to essentially giving me temporary scoliosis when I sat down, and the surgical rubber band I used really dug in as well. I suppose I'm really sensitive to butthurt.

Also a lot of the problem is I will simply set it on something and forget to pick it back up again. I don't think they make rubber bands strong enough to keep my brain from scattering.
