I have now 4 rugs in my joint, with 'rug pads' (which better be worth the hype), a new dresser, bookshelf, steamer, etc., etc. from Crate & Barrel (my favoritest place in da woild), and now that the maintenance has fixed my leaky faucet, I am sitting pretty. Cougar came by the other night to pick up some computer stuff, and now I have some room in my closet for whatever needs to go into it.
I'm thinking of buying a Wii for my computer as I had a real fun time playing at my neighbor's way back when. But I may wait, as I can think of less expensive ways to play with myself. I may also or instead get one of those teeny handheld video cameras to bring with me on trips to home or cons or whatnot, now that they are so damned small and HD and less expensive. Although I think I'd splurge a little for one which can connect an external minicamera for recording, as I saw some helmet-cams which would go great mounted onto my swordfighting helmet or in a costume headpiece at a con.
But I don't know how much I'll have the opportunity to travel this coming year. I've already told my family that I'm not flying in until next Thanksgiving, and barring family emergency I plan on sticking with it. We'll see. It was the only way I could get my family to visit me in Galveston, and it appears the same is true in Baltimore.
P.S. If any of you listen to podcasts a lot (I listen to them around 8 hours per day to keep my mind from getting off balance like an undergraduate centrifuge) you should check out Dan Carlin's Hardcore History. It's a little dry as he's not the best speaker, but his depth is pretty good. Also, "12 Byzantine Rulers" is another one who's got depth, and well-spoken.
