the tingle tells you it's working

So, it snowed here the past few days. A lot, actually. I thought, two days ago when it first started on the way home from work at night, that it was something innocuous like asbestos shedding from the housing projects nearby, or just ash from the incinerators. But no, it's the lightest bit of snow, and so cars wrecked with reckless abandon on the road and I sat in traffic like an asshole in a sea of assholes.

At home, three of my space heaters went tits-up, suspiciously. I have central heat but it's kind of Olson twins-weak, so I supplement. I found an old heating pad from when I cocked up my wrist, and big baby jesus is that nice to lay on. It doesn't help me when I get out of the shower, but that's what the 'warming lotion' is for I guess.

I went out to shoot some pool last Sat with cougar and reaffirmed my prudence in not becoming a pool hustler, like my pappy before me. Maybe I'll go again tomorrow.

There's a weekly or bi-weekly departmental party here at work, and they apparently have lots of beer and liquor and have a good time. But the thing is, I resent about half of the people in my department, and the ones I don't resent I just think are ugly douchebags. So I don't want to get to know them in the least. The last thing I want to do with them is get drunk. I think at some point it will be our turn to host the party, in which case I suppose we'll have to buy alcohol, and maybe just leave it in the room for those fuckers. We seem to be the only ones who skip lunch and work until 8 and through the weekend, and (partially) because of that the rest of these people are valueless in my eyes.

Have a happy weekend!
