Luckily the vet will board my dog while she's in heat, which would not have been something I would have questioned, except for me being out of town. And, for an additional charge they will fix her while she's in heat (which is something I was fairly certain they would not do), but they said it's an additional risk for her to bleed. However, they apparently do fix dogs in heat often enough, so I'm going to let them do it while I'm out of town. At least she'll be right there at the vet's if there is a problem. I'll ask them to do it in the morning so the doctors will be present all day right afterwards. It will be just like every AC, where every time my cellphone rings I get tense and wonder what has screwed up in Galveston.
