Northsider ARMA Texas Practice

I left Galveston around 10:15, and drove up through Houston, got caught behind a funeral going pretty much all through Houston on I-45 (hello people, find a closer funeral home already), and found the dude's house around 12:15. We worked on wrestling techniques, and short sword (gladius) thrusts, etc. 6 guys took their General Free Scholar test, and I helped out by testing them on the guards, and testing their defense against a few attacks, and then did some padded and waster free-sparring bouts against them along with several others to prize-play them. They all did pretty well altogether, I'd say. They need to work on various things, but so does everyone, including me. I got to handle one of the New Stirling Arms longsword wasters, which I ordered a month ago and which should be arriving next week, and I am pleased with the way that one felt, so I'll probably be glad I ordered it. After the prize-playing and the wrestling, we took a group picture and some of us went out to eat at a local Mexican joint. I'm glad I went, I had a good time and I got to know some of the other Texas ARMA guys a little better. If they post the picture online, I'll link it. I almost feel a little gypped, as I only came out of it with a couple of bruises. But I'm pretty tired from the head, the sun was relentless and I'm pretty sunburned. Thank god for the gatorade and such.
