It was weird going to the grocery store on Tuesday. The deli meat was all gone -- all of it. So was the whole milk (what the hell is it with texas peole and whole milk? nasty) And people were climping all over the raw meat section like it was about to start paying dividends. I saw the lines for the registers and so got a couple of things and got my deli meat where I knew it would be -- the sara lee section where it's 2 bucks more for less meat. Fuck it, I needs me a dagwood at lunchtime. I got some hotdogs, but they were out of buns so I got some hoagie rolls instead. It's not the same, not the same. Thank god for self-checkout. Also, there were pre-baked chickens just sitting there under the heat lamp! Some pussies let their fear of salmonella keep them from some good dinner right there. I'll go back for some more tomorrow night after swordfighting class I reckon, as I'm going through the skim milk like a pitbull through a playground.

skim milk == nastiest shit ever. The closest I can get to it is 2%. I literally gag on skim.

Come on now, it's awesome. Actually when I first started drinking it, it tasted awful, but I forced myself to get used to it. It lasts longer than lowfat and doesn't clot up in the glass as quickly if you leave it out. Also, if you get used to 2% then if they only have 1% or 1.5% you can sometimes taste the difference, but they always have skim.

I should mention that up in Webster, we have milk and meat in half-normal quantity, but we have it.

thanks, I just went to the randalls on ..el dorado, I think. I just got some milk and cheese, as that's enough to hold me until the weekend. That's the only place I know of besides the Target on Bay Area.

They have dagwood dogs there? I get so mad when I see them here cuz they just like wanna-be corndogs to me. (Which we can't get here.)

No I mean a dagwood as in a large several-layer sandwich like the character Dagwood from the comic strip Blondie makes. I've never heard of a dagwood dog, what do they cover them with, vegemite?

heh, no. It's their version of corndogs (since cornmeal isn't available here, and even if it were, I doubt many of these guys would eat it). Just covered in flour batter and deep-fried. It'd be ok, except its really oily and the sausage they use is pretty wrong. (They don't have what we call hot dogs here either.)

woe is me. I miss real food.

Oh and no one uses ketchup here, just ordinary tomato sauce, which is yucky. So that just adds insult to injury.
