I think that it's illegal to record telephone conversations without someone's knowledge, but if I were to add one of those 'customer support' recorded messages like "this call is being monitored for training purposes" to my answering machine and just pick up after that, I guess I could get away with it since I was warning them of the monitoring and giving them the opportunity to hang up. That seems fair, doesn't it? I think people would be a lot less likely to call me then. I guess it doesn't matter really as I get maybe 3 calls per month while I'm home to answer them, and I usually just let it ring through to voicemail. The only phone I'm likely to answer is my cellphone and I don't think I can record on that easily.
