I tried to rebuilt my old PC today, so I could run it as only RedHat 7, and have some peace and damn quiet on my computer, wholly independent of my trainwreck that is the Nth iteration of my new PC. I have 3 hard drives on this thing and only my oldest and smallest is recognized as a functioning drive. Of course it's all filled up now, because I left a Shoutcast stream ripping program on all night and apparently all the files went into the puny 30gig. And, my DVD writer is not being recognized so I can't unload any of this junk I call data and clear some space to organize my stuff. But, I couldn't finish building the old one because the power supply is fried (this is the 4th power supply that has been fried on this particular PC). I don't know if the motherboard is sound (this being the 3rd motherboard after the first two were fried) or if the CPU is okay (the third cpu, the first two fried as well). I won't know that until I go to CompUSA half an hour from here and get a new power supply. I just want my old PC back so I can use it to test my two non-functioning HDDs and get a stable linux running. My monitor supports switching between to PCs with a button, so I'll just put them side by side and let them compete for my attention. I have to keep a Wintel box running because all my little gadgets aren't supported on linux, of course. man, I am tired of this crap.
