I went to the photography store in Houston for the first time. LOTS of awesome lenses behind the counter. I was tempted to buy one, but they were way too expensive. I drove all the way up there planning to buy a macro extender cylinder so I could take some super close-up shots with my D70 (this 18-70 DX lens just isn't cutting it and 6.1 megapixels is too many to not get some really close-shots of something), but unlike what the girl on the phone told me, they didn't have any. But, seeing something behind the counter made me remember that I actually already have like 3 extender tubes at my house, along with a bellows at the house somewhere too. I could (hopefully, if it'll fit my lenses) take some suuuuuper close-ups with that thing. I've got to actually find and round up my dad's old pro photography equipment and figure out what I can use.

I took a picture of the new risers I installed on my bike yesterday, along with the new 'nostalgic' handlebar grips (ones that aren't actually degrading and melting in my hands as I ride, as the original ones were).

Yea I took some steel wool to it just before the picture, it was nasty rusted up for a long time. Actually I'm trying to dechrome the thing, I'm gonna send off all that chrome (well, most of it) and get half powdercoated black and the other half just sandblasted and coated clearcoat. I want a polished stainless/black look. I finally put my coated pipe shields on after the pics, and they look nice. I need to see how well they handle the pipe heat though. I took a spin with the new handlebars, and it's different with them a couple inches higher. Also I put the left one on a little crooked so I gotta fix that.

Any excuse to bust out the torque wrench..

Hmm yer going after henry ford's heart arent ya? ;) black and stainless were the only colors his cars came in and look the best in. until people wanted variety then they had colors.

My bike will be in any color you want it to be in, as long as it's black. ;)

Actually I'm keeping the oem tank and fenders which have the blue and pinstripes on them (at least until I fuck 'em up), so it's black and metal and grey-blue.. but still maybe I'll call it the Model H for harley eh?
