you wouldn't think it

I wish I were an artist.

So I could put an auction up and put a hundred bucks as the minimum bid. And even at that price, refuse to draw more than one character. And tell people that I'll draw a background if I feel like it, and refuse to draw my most popular character for less than $500. And even at that price, take six months to do it.

I seriously want to be an artist.

Its not the time required that would bother me, so long as its said up front.

But those terms are pretty ridiculous, even by "furry" standards.

There are, I think, 4 or 5 furry fandom artists who can command prices like that for their commissions. They can swing it because of the fans (or fanboys). Those terms are incredulous, but what's really ridiculous is that the auction's been up for probably less than 12 hours and it's already gotten 21 bids.

Hey, if you can, sometime this month, spot me the cost of my eyebrow piercing (I already have the jewelry), I will draw you (now that Pshaw has!) in black and white -- I don't have my colored pencils with me -- with attempted background, and mail you the original within two days.

D'accord.

Just tell me where/how much, and post us a pic when it stops bleeding, too.

Jerk-ette, maybe. I think she got laid off; she works at a wolf park and they're closed now. To be fair, I like her art, but I have no idea what makes people pay that kind of money for a commission (or anywhere near that kind of money). Maybe it's that somehow she got designated as one of the </b>Great Furry Artists</i> and it's a status symbol to have her do a commission. Can't say I wouldn't charge $500 for a drawing if I knew someone would pay it..
